Recess Visits: Play n’ train, suitable for any dog! – $33/visit

  • Ideal for puppies, busy dogs with busy owners, dogs who are reactive, fearful or anxious or otherwise would struggle with group environments but like to have something to do.
  • Often for long term
  • Program includes: Training in your home, for your dog’s comfort
  • Visit length – approximately 30 minutes
  • Recorded instructions when the trainer feels needed or if owner needs clarification
  • 15 minute video conference transfer session when trainer feels needed
  • Potty break, play or whatever your dog enjoys mixed with training
  • A Typical visit: exercise (short walk or fetch) 6 mini training sessions, Mental enrichment
  • Your dog benefits from fun and helpful learning and something to do during the day.
  • Sessions are scheduled as needed

Skills description:
-Sit/Down/Stand – with hand signal and verbal cue
-Stay – hold a sit or a down for up to 15 (or more) seconds and ignore mild distractions
-Recall – come when called and away from mild distractions
-Tricks – fun or helpful tasks or tricks around the home (shake a paw, spin, back up, hand touch, take-a-bow, retrieve toys or other items, etc)
-Foundation leash walking – teach your dog the skill and not to pull under mild distraction
-Targeting – feet/other parts of the body, or at a distance

Tutor- Beef up your Recess visits – $38/visit

  • For owners who want to follow closely and participate in their dog’s learning. For those who are looking for faster results, want to be involved, but don’t have the time to train themselves
  • Program includes:
    exercise, training in your home for your dog’s comfort, 30 minutes, bathroom break, 6 training sessions mixed with mental or physical breaks.
  • Recorded video instructions provided every 10 visits
  • (optional)1 15 minute video conference transfer session every 15 visits.
  • For fastest results, this service is recommended at a minimum 3 visits per week

Honors – Board & Train equivalent – $50

  • For dogs with behavioural challenges(who panic, anxious, fearful, react to equipment, reactivity (barking growling lunging at a distance) ) or for intensive work on basic skills : muzzle training, skills to help owners manage.
  • In the comfort of your own home, or the area nearby which is challenging
  • We install and train skills to assist in behavioural change and management.
  • Flex length of approximately 30-45 minutes) at trainer discretion – to ensure your value (for instance, if finding a real life example takes a bit longer than expected or extra practice is helpful for the individual dog.)
  • Weekly report emails detailing information and instructions, applicable videos if needed
  • Weekly optional transfer session: either video conference or alternating video conference with in-person coaching, 15-30 minutes length adjusted as needed
  • Available with initial 1 hour private lesson and either without transfer sessions, but with minimum 1 follow up private lesson, or with weekly transfer sessions.

-Counter conditioning & desensitization training game: to change your dog’s association with scary or alarming things; your dog learns to ignore exciting or concerning things at a distance and to instead tune into you
-Skills to avoid reaction: u turns, search, sniffing, foundation leash walking, recall, ignoring
-Master food enrichment items which will help avoid reactions/provide constructive activities
-Co-operative care: dogs can opt in, tolerate, and often even learn to enjoy nail trimming, grooming, bathing, face wiping, eye drops etc
-Cooperative handling: foundation skills for necessary vet or other restraints (when they must be held still), to be ok with being lifted or carried
Equipment: stand still (or possibly run towards!) for putting on harness, muzzle, head halter, clothing, etc
